The Beginning
When Trudy first approached me, she had a big goal, to run the NYC marathon. She had never run a race before and was starting from a place of running less than 5km. The challenge was monumental, but I knew with the right plan, support, and a lot of determination, she could achieve her dream.
Training for success
The primary focus of our training was to build her strength—not just in her legs but all over her body. Running a marathon requires more than just strong legs; it demands core stability, upper body endurance, and a resilient mindset. We started with a strength-building program tailored to her needs, gradually increasing Trudy’s endurance and muscle mass. This was crucial in transitioning her from a 5km runner to someone who could tackle the full 42.2km of the marathon.

The marathon day came, and while she didn’t hit their ideal time, she crossed the finish line—a massive accomplishment.
